Beacon Mini Festival

On Sunday 2 October, Beacon HC hosted an U10 and U12 7-a-side “mini festival” tournament which featured players from seven local clubs. Beacon striker Alfie helped Barford and scored 3 goals during the U10 tournament, which was won by Wednesbury. Beacon entered a team in the U12 event and finished second behind Lichfield with 10 goals scored and only 4 conceded 💪 Here is the U12 match report by their manager Mikaela:

Beacon U12s fielded a team made up of players from Beacon (Luke, James and Ben); West Brom (Zak, Ivan, Gurumdip) and Barford (Vee and Kara). Considering most were meeting for the first time, you would not believe how quickly they gelled and began to work on winning their three matches. With no goalie Beacon or the 3Bs as they were known, played superbly in defence with Luke holding strong, supported throughout by Zak, Gurumdip, Ben, James and Ivan.

Up front Vee was on fire scoring goals in multiple games, with Zak destroying the goal during the final match. Ivan looked likely to score throughout and finally got one in. James was strong in midfield providing great passes and feeds into the D. Kara got stronger and more confident throughout and held her own as our only girl. Ben and Gurumdip played well across the pitch, happily working hard wherever they were needed. Luke had a good go in midfield, out of his comfort zone, sending the ball down the line for the attack, while Kara and Vee blended seemlessly with the others to form what resulted in a tight and dominant team.

The first game was a 2-1 win against Bloxwich, 2nd game was a loss to Lichfield, and by the 3rd game the strong formation and dominance resulted in a staggering win with more than 5 goals…honestly I lost count against WATs

It was a pleasure to manage them and I look forward to more festivals with them if possible.
