Mini Festival: Debutants and keepers impress

On Sunday 4 December, Beacon HC participated in a Mini Festival 7-a-side tournament hosted by Lichfield HC. 

Our U10 side was reinforced by four Barford Tigers players and included two debutants - Drew in goal and Gracie in defence 👏. Thanks in part to their heroic defending, the matches were mostly very close, ending in three draws and a defeat. Jonathan, Jacob, Alfie and Jonah also played well in midfield and attack and we were unlucky not to get a few more goals.

Our U12 side managed 2 wins followed by a barnstorming 3-3 draw with Cannock, with our team going 2-0 ahead before trailing 2-3 and finally getting a late equaliser. Logan excelled in goal on his debut, James was among the goals and Arun had an outstanding game in defence and midfield, with Aamir and Ethan also contributing to an unbeaten tournament. Thanks to all the teams who lent us players, including WATs and Bloxwich, whose players then scored against them 😬😂

Well done to Lichfield for organising a successful tournament and to the volunteers, parents and players who supported the event on what was a very chilly day 🥶 Also check out the superb photos by Rob below 📸
