On Sunday 15 January at Aston University Recreation Ground, our Juniors returned to action for the first youth event of 2023, which we also hosted. Despite the low temperatures it was a fine day and there was lots of great hockey action to warm up the spectators!
In the U12 Mixed event, our combined team of 7 Beacon and 3 Barford players finished unbeaten 💪
In the U14 Girls event, we overcame Sutton 2-1, with Ellie grabbing 2 debut goals 💥
In the U14 Boys event, Matthew netted twice and SamWS grabbed the other goal ⚽️⚽️⚽️
In the U16 Boys event, there were goals aplenty in our first two games. Bloxwich pipped us to the top spot in the closing match, but we finished a solid second 👏🏻
It was also great to see debut team entries from West Brom (U12) and Barford (U16), which should further improve the standard of this competitions from now on.
Well done to the players, parents and volunteers, who helped contribute to a successful day of youth hockey. And a shout-out also to those players who kindly offered to help out those teams that were short ⭐️
