U10s and U12s Spring Into Action

On Sunday 3 March 2024, Beacon entered U8, U10 and U12 teams in a small mini festival hosted by Bloxwich HC at Willenhall E-Act Academy.

The U8 event was unfortunately cancelled due to early morning frost, but the sunny weather quickly warmed up the pitch for the later events.

The U10s played three games, winning two and losing one, a highly competitive and exciting encounter against Lichfield, who scored on the break after being put under long spells of pressure. Our team was ably assisted by several players from West Brom HC, who made a great contribution.

The U12s played a triangular tournament against Bloxwich and Cannock, drawing 3-3 and winning 8-0 respectively. Jibril and Jonah both scored hat-tricks, and there were some excellent strikes following one-touch passing combinations in the buildup. The pick of the goals was a deflected effort by JonahW from a long shot by Jacob, after we had been practicing deflected goals in midweek training.
