On Sunday 19 November 2023, Beacon HC's Under-8s played their first ever mini festival, hosted by Bloxwich HC at the E-ACT Academy Willenhall.
Our hockey heroes 🦸🏻♀️🦸♂️ won 2 and drew 1 of their 5 games, scoring 5 goals in the process 💥. Matthew ⚽️ grabbed 3 goals and Charlotte ⚽️ struck 2, with both players looking to drive forward at every opportunity.
Lola did an amazing job on the right of midfield 👏🏻., having never played a competitive game before, but her confidence grew as the tournament progressed, and she nearly scored herself.
Our youngest player Jamie was also making his competitive debut and was an excellent defender at the back, keeping out shots on the line and blocking runs and passes toward goal 💪.
It was a long, hard tournament - 5 games in a row, and our attention started to wander in the last game 😴😂 - but it was a superb team performance overall ⭐️.
We are already looking forward to the next mini festival, hosted by Cannock on 10 December.
