On 8 October 2023, Beacon Hockey Club hosted a "mini festival" 7-a-side tournament for U10 and U12 age groups on a gloriously warm and sunny day ☀️.
Our U10s were defensively solid and were the only team to avoid losing to runaway winners Wednesbury, picking up a win and two draws. Charles scored our only goal at the end of a mazy solo run 💪 Special well done to under-8s Matthew and Charlotte, who made their mini-festival debuts for the U10s 🏅
Our U12s found the going tough but still earned two draws and a goal right at the end of the final game, scored by Alfie. We had plenty of shooting chances and it was only a number of excellent opposition goalkeepers that stopped us scoring more.
We are grateful to Laura and Mikaela for managing the U10s and U12s respectively, Chris and Rob for the excellent photos, and all the players and parents who supported the event.
Next festival will be hosted by Wolverhampton&Tettenhall HC at Aldersley on 22nd October.
