Fun in the Sun at Barford Festival

On Sunday 11 May, Beacon HC entered U8, U10 and U12 teams in a "mini festival" tournament hosted at Hamstead Hall Academy by Barford Tigers HC, complete with food stalls, bouncy castle and a pop-up hockey equipment shop.

Our young U8s team did well to earn a hard-fought draw in their event, with Zayden also scoring 3 goals 🚀

Our U10 team also found the competition tough but won their last game 2-0 and scored through Matthew (2) and Zayden. 💪 Once again it was very encouraging to see so many girls in our team 👏

The U12 team finished runners-up in their event, winning all 4 of their group games and losing only to Bedford (1-3) in the final play-off. Scorers were Charles with 8 (inc. 5 in one game), Tommy (4), Sean (3), Viren and Yuvraj. Well done to Tommy, Viren and Axel for giving it their all on their debuts.

Thanks to all those players who helped other teams who were short of players 👏

Big thanks to Linnie and Stu for helping to coach the U12s and U10s respectively, to Chris and Stephen for the photos (to be published soon), the players and their parents for supporting the event, and also to Barford Tigers HC for their great efforts in organising a tremendous family day of junior sport.
