Fun in the Sun at Newport Mini Festival

On Sunday 19 April, Beacon HC entered U8, U10 and U12 teams in a "mini festival" tournament hosted at Wrekin College, Telford by Newport HC.

Our U8s won 3 and drew 1 of their 5 games thanks to goals from Jamie (1) and top-scorer Jude (4), including a hat-trick ⚽️⚽️⚽️

Our U10s Isra, Lola, George and Matthew joined forces with Stafford and played some excellent hockey together.

The U12 team won 5 of their 6 games, netting 17 goals and conceding only 1! Top scorer was Connor with 6 🚀, ahead of Sean (5), Zyon (3), Charles (2) and Jack. Ella, Zayden and Donald worked tirelessly in midfield and defence, while goalkeeper Olaf was a rock at the back as usual, stopping shots, bouncing on loose balls and shouting encouragement in every game.

Big thanks to Linnie for coaching the U12s, Chris for the photos, Katy for the match stats, all the players and their parents for supporting the event, and also to Newport HC for the effort put into organising an excellent day of junior sport for youngsters across Staffordshire and Shropshire.
