Beacon HC Hosts County Festival

On Sunday 1 February, Beacon HC welcomed clubs from across the county and beyond for a brilliant morning and afternoon of junior hockey, with U8, U10 and U12 teams producing some fantastic matches with plenty of skill on show.

Results

U8 Event

• 1st: Newport 1
• 2nd: Cannock

A tightly contested set of fixtures, with Newport 1 edging the top spot thanks to three narrow wins, and Cannock finishing runners‑up after a strong final round.

U10 Event

• 1st: Cannock
• 2nd: WaTs

Cannock topped the table on goal difference after an unbeaten run, with WaTs close behind following three impressive victories.

U12 Event

• 1st: WaTs 1
• 2nd: Beacon

The U12s produced some of the day’s most exciting hockey, with WaTs 1 taking the honours and Beacon finishing a well‑earned second after three excellent wins.

A huge thank you to everyone who made the festival possible: Helen and Jas for their organisation and support throughout the day; Junior umpires Olaf and Jonah, who handled their matches with confidence and maturity; Beacon U12 manager Mark, for coordinating the home squad and helping the event run smoothly; all team managers who juggled umpiring duties while coaching; and the visiting clubs for supporting the festival and contributing to such a positive atmosphere. And well done to Isra for helping out Stafford U10s team ⭐️

Events like this only work because of the volunteers, parents, coaches and players who give their time and energy — thank you all.
