Midland League: Boys win U16 event, Girls hold Sutton!

On Sunday 27 November, Beacon HC entered the U14/U16 Midland League (Tier3) + U12 Boys tournament hosted by Bloxwich HC at the E-Act Academy in Willenhall. 

The U16 Boys team won their event, with three wins from four games. In the U14 events, the Boys went unbeaten and the Girls, playing only their second tournament, held Sutton to a 0-0 draw and conceded only 3 goals!

Also competing in a triangular tournament were the U12 Boys, ably assisted by Zac from West Brom and two guest players from Cannock. The team earned a win and a draw from their 4 games.

Big thanks to the coaches, umpires and other volunteers, and to the parents and players for supporting the event. Well done also to Bloxwich HC for organising a successful day.

We are already looking forward to the next events: 

• 4 Dec at Lichfield HC (U10, U12)
• 15 January at Beacon HC (U14, U16)
• 22 January at Bloxwich HC (U10, U12, U14, U16)

U12 Boys

Scores: 1-0, 0-4, 0-1, 1-1, scorers: Zac 2

Superb showing by the team, who played one match with a player short. Well done to Aamir and James working hard in midfield, with Logan and Arun holding steady at the back 👏🏻. No photos sorry, volunteer photographer needed for next time :-)

U14 Boys

Scores: 0-0, 0-0, 1-1, 4-1, scorers: Abdullah 4, Joe

Solid performances from everyone, especially in the last fixture, when Abdullah netted all four goals 💥🏑🏑.

U14 Girls

Scores: 0-1, 0-2, 0-0

Excellent effort by our fledgling girls team, who finished off with a draw and clean sheet against local giants Sutton. In particular, Lexi in goal made a huge difference, providing a psychological boost and saving multiple certain goals 🥅.

U16 Boys

Scores: 4-1, 0-1, 4-0, 2-0, scorers: Tom 5, Alfie 3, Jeevan 2

Our U16 team won the tournament ahead of Bloxwich, with three wins from four games. ⚽️ Hat-trick for Alfie in the opener, Tom the top scorer with 5 💪.
