Rocket Goals And One-Handed Strikers

On Sunday 26 March at Chase Park, the home of Cannock HC, our Juniors were in action for a Mini Festival (U10-U12) and Midland League event (U14-U16).

• In the U10 Mixed event, we won 3 and lost 2 games, scoring 9 goals including a hat-trick from AlfieB and 5 goals from Jonah 💥 Two of our victories came against Newport and Stafford, who we were playing for the first time.
• In the U12 Mixed event, we won 3 games and lost 1. Aamir bagged 6 goals 👌, including 4 in one game. There were U12 debuts from Edward, who was dangerous on the wing, and U10 keeper Drew who earned a clean sheet in his first match 💪
• In the U14 Boys event, Beacon won 3 games and lost 1 to a rocket of a strike 🚀. SamWS was our top goalscorer with 4 ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️, and we netted 10 goals overall, working some scintillating shots and team-play. Shout-out to Connor for making his U14 debut against tough opposition.
• In a tricky U16 Boys event, we won one game and drew against a robust Bloxwich side. Govind and Jeevan finished the event on 2 goals apiece. Newport showed they are the team to beat, with one of their standout players playing most of the game one-handed 🤷‍♂️

🏅 Special mention to AlfieP for showing such dedication and support to the U16 team, by playing just hours after a M3 game and using up every last bit of energy in the tank 👏🏻, especially as the matches got harder and more draining as the event progressed.

🏅 And to SamWS, Tristan and Seb for rescuing us by doubling up for the U14s and U16s. Thanks also to Harveer and U14 Manveer ⭐️, who were among the players to help Barford U16s who were short.

We are again indebted to the support of our coach volunteers, as well as to the players and parents who helped contribute to a spectacular day of youth hockey.

• U12: Stafford 2-0 (Logan, James), Newport 0-2, Bloxwich 5-0 (Aamir 4, Edward), WATs 3-1 (Aamir 2, James)
• U14 Boys: Tamworth 1-0 (Tristan), Newport 4-1 (Sam 2, Matthew, Rhys), WATs 4-1 (Sam 2, Matthew, Seb), Bloxwich 1-2 (Matthew)
• U16 Boys: Bloxwich 0-0, Barford 3-0 (Jeevan 2, Govind), WATs 1-2 (Govind), Newport 0-2
